Advancing Inclusive sustainable Development anchored in Manufacturing.

Income inequality in the United States is at its highest level in 50 years.

Manufacturing Renaissance (MR) is a Chicago-based nonprofit organization, founded in 1982 in effort to address the wide scale loss of manufacturing jobs and its impact on communities.
Today, MR envisions advancing a new paradigm of development that builds thriving communities, companies and social institutions. Working with high road manufacturers, community and labor leaders, we can develop a mix of locally integrated education, training, community and economic development programs.
Together we can expand inclusive prosperity through workforce, economic and wealth creation opportunities among historically disenfranchised communities.

What we Do:

MR works with manufacturers, youth, schools, social services and communities to grow inclusive manufacturing ecosystems that can build thriving communities.  Currently we operate across two program areas: Career Pathway Services and Manufacturing Ecosystem Services.

Manufacturing Ecosystem Services

Chicagoland Manufacturing Renaissance Council

Apply and expand MR-informed policies and prototypes towards advancing sustainable, scalable development solutions. Primary program activity is through the Chicagoland Manufacturing Renaissance Council (CMRC) network. The CMRC is a network of organizations and individuals who are advocates for policies and programs related to expanding inclusive manufacturing in our region. Join us!
